Job Description

Providing specialized instruction and support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, this K-12 itinerant teaching role spans the academic year with a commitment of 25 hours per week. The position requires delivering tailored educational services across various grade levels, ensuring accessible and effective learning experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt instructional materials and classroom environments.
• Utilizing specialized communication strategies such as sign language and auditory training.
• Conducting assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Providing consultation and training to educators and families on best practices for supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• State certification in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Experience working with K-12 learners in an itinerant or similar role.
• Proficiency in sign language and other communication modalities used by Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively among educational teams.
• Ability to manage a flexible schedule and travel between assigned schools.
