Hays has partnered with an international company that focuses on transforming communities and creating wellbeing experiences for millions of people around the world. They are developing a large resort project in Toronto to serve the community we love and are looking for a new Senior Project Manager to join the team.
Your new role
The Senior Project Manager will report to the VP of Construction and be responsible for coordinating all the pre-construction work required for their respective Toronto project. They will then transition into leading the construction project from start to finish once they have broken ground. They will be a liaison for stakeholders, fostering collaboration and clear communication with construction partners, maintaining alignment on objectives, risks and delivery timelines. This individual will develop a PLAA strategy with consultants, designers and these construction partners. They will drive accountability across all parties and ensure robust risk management is adopted throughout. The Senior Project Manager will lead a small team, driving the day-to-day execution of construction activities, including milestones, handover requirements and operational readiness.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful Senior Project Manager candidate will have at least 5+ years of managing large projects from start to finish, preferably in the hospitality industry. They will have an in-depth understanding of pre-construction and construction management activities and how design and procurement impact the schedule. The PM will have working knowledge of health and safety and CDM and environmental legislation. Having experience managing a small team is a definite asset for the role. They will be willing to travel occasionally and be able to go to the office at least 4 times a week.
