Job Description

A full-semester contract opportunity is available for an experienced professional skilled in educating students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) within a K-12 setting. This role requires providing specialized support on an as-needed basis, approximately five hours per month, in a Texas-based school.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering tailored instructional support and interventions for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Collaborating closely with classroom educators to adapt curriculum and materials to meet individual student needs.
• Monitoring and assessing student progress, adjusting strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
• Providing guidance and resources to families and staff regarding communication methods and assistive technologies.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant educational standards and legal requirements related to the education of students with hearing impairments.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or related special education credentials.
• Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Strong knowledge of communication modalities such as American Sign Language (ASL), cued speech, or other preferred methods.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently within limited scheduled hours.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to manage caseload and collaborate with school personnel.
