The Position

About the Role
At Roche, our commitment is to our single mission: "Doing now what patients need next." We are seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist who shares this passion to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and executing integrated marketing communication strategies that not only enhance our brand presence but also contribute to better outcomes for patients.
Working with the support and guidance of the Marketing Communications Manager, you will be empowered to take ownership and proactively lead key projects. This position is perfect for a self-motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to make a significant impact. You will work in close partnership with the Digital Communications and Corporate Communications members in the Communications team, our local teams especially the Marketing team, as well as with regional (APAC) and global counterparts, to ensure a unified and powerful brand message across all channels.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Together with the Marketing team, develop and implement comprehensive marketing communication plans for product launches and brand campaigns, always with the goal of serving patient and healthcare professional needs.
  • Create compelling, empathetic, and high-quality content for various channels, including sales collateral, online articles, events and seminars, ensuring it resonates with healthcare professionals, patients, and the wider community.
  • Independently manage and lead specific marcom projects from conception through to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet their objectives.
  • Track, measure, and report on the performance of marketing communication campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for future initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the Digital Communications team to ensure a cohesive online presence and optimize digital marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Communications team to align all messaging with our corporate brand identity, values, and strategic goals.
  • Liaise and align with regional (APAC) and global marketing communications teams to ensure local strategies are consistent with the global vision, and to share insights and best practices from Japan.

What You'll Bring (Qualifications)
Required:

  • A genuine passion for our mission and a deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of patients.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience in the Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, or Life Sciences industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a marketing communications role.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful integrated marketing communication campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese.
  • A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across different functions and cultures, building strong internal relationships both locally and internationally.
  • The ability to understand and participate in English meetings.

Preferred:

  • Business-level proficiency in English, necessary for effective collaboration with global teams.
  • Experience working in a global or regional capacity within a multinational company.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools (e.g., Marketo) and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
