Capital Markets

The objective of the Capital Markets team is to drive organizational growth by successfully interfacing with diverse sources of capital to grow our three core business divisions: Real Estate Debt, Real Estate Equity, and Building Products Private Equity. Our Capital Markets team touches all facets of capital markets and aspires to create long-term relationships and deliver value for our clients, partners, and team members. This team allows the successful candidate to have impact and learning across KV Capital’s various operations to ensure the long-term growth of the firm is supported by fostering existing capital relationships and growing new ones

Position Junior Analyst, Capital Markets (Co-op)

Location Edmonton, Alberta

Term 4 or 8 months Co-op term, commencing in September 2025 or January 2026

The Opportunity

The successful Co-op student will play a pivotal role in supporting the Capital Markets team in strategy execution and capital raising objectives for KV Capital (KVC). They will work closely with internal stakeholders to contribute to the overall success of KVC’s capital-raising efforts. The successful candidate will have an interest in the Capital Markets field, be a critical thinker, have strong financial acumen, and have an understanding of macroeconomic themes.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Capital Markets team with the creation of pitch books and client presentations.
  • Undertake research projects for various strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Analyze market conditions and economic data to forecast and assess the impact of external factors on capital markets strategies.
  • Monitor fundamental economic, industrial, and corporate developments relevant to KVC.
  • Support the execution of capital markets raises and transactions.
  • Maintain databases of capital raise transactions, CRM and compile regular investor lead activity reports.
  • Liaise with the Investor Relations team to gather investor feedback and contribute to the distribution of transactions.
  • Collaborate across KVC to understand the capital-raising needs of each business unit.
  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives, including tracking metrics and milestones.
  • Gather and format data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.

Education Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Co-op or Internship program and have completed their 2nd or 3rd year in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline and will be returning to full-time school immediately following the work term.
  • Future aspirations of attaining a CFA or CPA designation

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • A strong financial acumen and understanding of macroeconomic themes and the equity and debt market functions.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Proficiency or knowledge of Bloomberg, FactSet, CapitalIQ, and Pitchbook is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated alignment with KVC’s values through a strong commitment to being a reliable partner, continuous improvement and delivering with speed and accuracy.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands with tight timelines.
  • Interpersonal and relationship management skills for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders and working efficiently with others to drive results.
  • A willingness to embrace learning in a dynamic environment that encourages new ideas and embraces change.
  • Personal interest, working knowledge, and/or experience in the capital markets, real estate or commercial mortgage industry.
  • Familiarity with local (Alberta and Canadian) economic conditions and indicators is considered an asset.
