Job Description

Akkodis is currently searching for an IT Security Professional for our client within the Ottawa area.

Job Description:

• Provide 3rd-line support for resolving complex IT security related incidents and problems, including root cause analysis and resolution.
• Review, analyze and apply Networking protocols including, Internet Security protocols and TCP/IP as needed.
• Identify and analyze threats and vulnerabilities of IT infrastructure through installing, monitoring and detecting faults in intrusion and detection and prevention systems, firewalls and networks devices, malicious code, anti-spam and content management tools.
• Produce the design, test and implementation plan for installation and updates of operating systems.
• Install firewalls and content checkers.
• Document, test and implement solutions for new requirements and modifications to existing IT security infrastructure and assess feasibility of implementing solutions developed by other defence organizations.
• 5 days/week on site.

Mandatory Experience Required/Must Haves:

• GOC Top Secret security clearance (please provide file no. with application).
• 3 years of experience within the past 5 years working within a GOC secret network or above.
• 10 years of experience working with and managing IT products and infrastructures, including one of: Microsoft Network Operating Systems or, IP Networks or, Applications Integration.
• Designing and maintaining security networking equipment, which may include but is not limited to: Guards and Gateways, Intrusion Detection Systems, Firewalls, Border Protection Services, Cryptographic Devices, Data Diodes
• Strong knowledge and working experience with Layer 7 IT security protocols and products.

Additional Requirements/Nice to Haves:

• Experience working in a National Defence environment.
• Strong knowledge and working experience with: Firewalls (preferably Cisco and Palo Alto)
• Routing/Switches, Proxy, Domain Name System (DNS).
• Layer 7 security experience such as: protocols, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Mail Guard, Trustwave MailMarshal, Skyhigh, McAfee Web Gateway OR McAfee Chat Gateway.
• University degree or college diploma in engineering, computer science or an IT related field.
