Job Title: Manager, FinanceLocation: Central Tokyo, JapanReporting To: Head of Finance, JapanAbout the Company:A well-established international company in the outdoor and lifestyle industry, known for their commitment to quality and innovation. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to join their team in Japan.Responsibilities:- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and relevance for the Japan leadership team.- Drive financial and business performance by developing and monitoring key performance indicators, analyzing variances, and proposing action plans.- Analyze profitability across different sales channels to optimize investment strategies.- Support the annual budget process and deliver consistent and accurate financial forecasts.- Manage monthly and yearly financial closing processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, loans, and tax coordination.- Maintain robust internal control safeguards and manage external and internal audit activities.- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial and regulatory requirements.- Streamline daily finance and accounting operations, as well as manage legal-related tasks.- Lead and develop a small team responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and some general affairs duties.- Effectively communicate financial performance and insights to the head office and local teams through clear reports and presentations.Key Requirements:- Minimum of 5 years of finance experience, including financial planning and analysis (FP&A), preferably within the consumer goods sector and in multinational companies.- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices (CPA or equivalent certification is a plus).- Business-level proficiency in English (both verbal and written communication, including proposal creation).Personal Attributes:- Professional demeanor- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Strong logical and analytical thinking abilities- Customer/consumer-focused mindsetSoftware Proficiency:- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.- Ability to quickly adapt to new IT tools.
