What Will Your Next Role Look Like?

Peliplat is seeking a visionary Chief Writer to lead our creative and content strategy. As a global platform dedicated to film enthusiasts and storytellers, we empower both professional and aspiring writers to bring their stories to life. The ideal candidate is a highly accomplished creative leader with deep expertise in storytelling, content strategy, and community engagement. This role will drive Peliplat’s creative vision, overseeing story creation initiatives, film reviews, and content development while fostering a thriving community of creators.

Responsibilities

Creative & Content Strategy

• Define and execute Peliplat’s content strategy for film reviews and story creation, aligning with our mission to support and inspire creators.
• Develop comprehensive business and creative plans to establish Peliplat as a premier platform for storytelling and content innovation.
• Oversee the creative execution of content, ensuring a unified and engaging experience for our global audience.

Story Creation & Innovation

• Lead the development of compelling story concepts and projects , driving high-quality storytelling among community members.
• Initiate and manage collaborative storytelling projects , encouraging community participation in co-creation initiatives.
• Leverage extensive expertise in storytelling to guide writers in creating impactful narratives.

Empowering Content Creators

• Understand the challenges faced by aspiring writers and develop solutions to support their growth.
• Collaborate with product and technology teams to design innovative tools that enhance the creative writing experience, based on deep understanding of story structures and narrative logic.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to writers, critics, and content creators , fostering an environment of learning and collaboration.

Community Leadership & Engagement

• Build and lead an engaged writing community , facilitating initiatives such as story co-creation, online writing courses, and workshops .
• Serve as a champion for storytelling and creativity , representing Peliplat at industry events, festivals, and panels.
• Stay ahead of industry trends to position Peliplat as a thought leader in digital storytelling and interactive content.

Qualifications

Creative & Storytelling Expertise

• Proven track record as an exceptional writer or storyteller, with recognized excellence in fictional writing. Experience in novel, film, television, or online games projects is preferred. Award-winning works are a strong advantage.
• Deep understanding of both the logic and artistry of storytelling, with proficiency in analyzing, deconstructing, and reshaping story structures. Capable of breaking down the story creation process and empowering it through the use of specialized tools.
• Experience in collaborative storytelling and co-creation projects.

Industry Knowledge & Passion for Content

• Passion for storytelling across various formats (screenwriting, novels, online games, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of content industry trends and audience preferences.
• Experience in leading writing communities and initiatives.
• Teaching experience in creative writing is a plus.

Leadership & Strategic Vision

• Strong leadership and success in leading teams and managing creative projects.
• Ability to integrate creativity into product development and user engagement.
• Strategic mindset for long-term creative growth and industry adaptation.

Education & Language Skills

• MFA in Creative Writing, Literature, or related field preferred.
• Exceptional experience and portfolio may substitute for a formal degree.
• Fluent in English; Spanish or Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
• Strong cross-cultural understanding is a plus, especially with Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences.

This is a full-time position based in Vancouver, BC. Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The salary range for this role is $70,000.00 to $125,000.00 CAD .
