What are you going to do:

As a 16-year-old, the world is your oyster when applying for jobs. So here are some examples of what you could be doing. 

• Activity Leader

You could work as a sport multi-skills activity leader. Your tasks consist of aiding 20 children between the ages of 4 and 14-year-olds with different sports challenges and activities. You must be high-energy and fun and create an inclusive day for children. As an activity leader, you will be responsible for organising, checking and tidying equipment away after activities.

• Cashier

These types of jobs are great entry-level positions for 16-year-olds. Your typical tasks every shift include checking customers out, scanning items and issuing receipts after purchase. Some of the other tasks you are responsible for are restocking shelves and ringing up customers, with the ability to work under pressure.

• Babysitter

If you love working with children, babysitting may be a great job. You will be looking after children who are between the ages of 1 to 13 years old. You are responsible for preparing nutritious meals, basic childcare and developing their skills. 

• Tutor

You could also become a freelance tutor. If you are highly skilled in particular subjects, you could educate and coach other young people or even older people if you have the ability. Being passionate, professional and patient, you can easily teach and tutor people of all ages.

• 1-hour break every 4 hours worked
• Most jobs are available to you

• No minimum education required
• 12 hours a week (Term Time)
• 35 hours a week (School Holiday)
• 8 hours on a Saturday
