About the Role

As an Account Manager for Brainstorm, you will be helping our clients gain insight into the financial health of their business by creating a foundation of accurate and timely bookkeeping.

What your day will look like

  • Work closely with clients to manage financial books and records
  • Properly code and complete data entry of bank and credit card transactions, entering bills, checks, receipts, invoices, sales receipts, etc.
  • Process state scheduled sales tax returns
  • Process payroll based on client’s schedule and needs
  • Complete month-end tasks such as bank and credit card reconciliation, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, inventory journal entries, adjusting journal entries, etc.
  • Prepare financial reports for clients, that may include budget to actual reporting
  • Prepare and distribute 1099s
  • Prepare financial reports and shared documentation at year-end for CPA tax filing
  • Provide back up support to other team members as needed
  • Use software integration apps, such as Dext and Shogo
  • Minimum of 30 hours/week

What you will need to succeed

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 Years of bookkeeping experience
  • Basic knowledge of US GAAP Accounting Principles
  • Basic knowledge of financial statements, period close activities, creating journal entries and preparing account reconciliation, as well as standard Bookkeeping processes (i.e. entering bills, checks, receipts, invoices, sales receipts, etc)
  • Payroll setup and management including quarterly reconciliation (Gusto experience is preferred)
  • Sales tax filing
  • 1099 filing
  • Job-Costing
  • Inventory management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Intermediate Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  • Strong QuickBooks Online experience is a must
  • Use of various POS software (ex. Stripe, Shopify, PayPal, Toast, Upserve, etc)
  • Other ERP software (i.e. Xero, Zoho, QB Desktop)

Skills:

  • Self-starter, who enjoys independent learning and ability to troubleshoot
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of and exposure to variety of industries, preferably related to the Manufacturing Industry or related field with demonstrated inventory management and job costing capabilities
  • Ability to work well with deadlines and re-prioritize work assignments as needed
  • Professional attitude that works well with others
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of and establishes/maintains good rapport with clients
  • Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality

Remote Work Station must have(s):

  • Reliable WIFI/internet connection with a plan of at least 100 Mbps
  • Minimum of 2 computer screen monitors
  • Windows 10 or 11 based laptop or desktop PC to meet the following specifications
    • 8GB of RAM or greater
    • 500GB SSD (Solid State Drive) or greater
