Lead the financial close process and develop robust internal controls for a dynamic, global consumer goods company in Japan. The Japan subsidiary is a key market for the company, offering a challenging yet supportive environment for ambitious professionals.Role & ResponsibilitiesYou will be a key member of the Controllership team, playing a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. You will manage key aspects of the financial close process, maintain a strong internal control environment, and collaborate with both internal and external teams to streamline processes. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership and make a real impact on the company's financial health.Main tasks include- Lead the monthly financial close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.- Develop and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.- Manage accounts payable and expense claims, working closely with a shared service center.- Oversee intercompany accounting and reconciliations.- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and accounting.- Identify opportunities to improve financial accounting processes within the SAP system.Requirements- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial accounting within a multinational corporation (MNC).- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.- Experience with SAP and Hyperion is preferred, but not required.- Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail.- Strong communication and collaboration skills.- Fluent in Japanese; Business level English is highly desirable.
