Job Description

Videographer – 10-Month Parental Leave Replacement

Office of the Leader of the Opposition

The Office of the Leader of the Opposition is seeking a creative, organized, and hardworking Videographer to join our communications team on a 10-month contract covering a parental leave with the possibility for extension. This role is ideal for a candidate with a passion for storytelling, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced political environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, film, and edit video content for social media, digital platforms, and events.
  • Capture both short-form and long-form content, including interviews, press events, and speeches.
  • Collaborate with the communications and digital teams to develop engaging visual strategies.
  • Manage video projects from concept through final delivery under tight deadlines.
  • Ensure consistency with the Leader’s brand and message across all content.
  • Maintain and organize video equipment, footage, and archives.
  • Travel and work in the evenings and on weekends may be required for this role.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in videography, video editing, and production (portfolio required).
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Suite.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of the Conservative movement and the ability to craft messages that advance our objectives.

Assets

  • Experience working in political or fast-paced media environments.
  • Skills in graphic design or motion graphics.
  • Familiarity with photography.

  • Term: 10-month contract (parental leave replacement), possibility for extension.
  • Location: Ottawa, ON.
  • Start date: October 13, 2025 (flexible)
