COMPENSATION: $150,000 - $180,000

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: 

The Vice President of Digital Marketing reports to the COO and is held accountable by the Chief Executive Officer. This strategic position is responsible for meeting all Space Foundation marketing goals and directing efforts for both the marketing and creative services teams. This includes partnering with stakeholders throughout the organization to develop key marketing strategies that will support growth and utilizing best-in-class web techniques that align with business needs. This position requires a dynamic and visionary leader who can bridge the gap between technology, creativity, and market trends to enhance the company's competitive advantage and market position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consults with all stakeholders to determine needs, preferences, direction, and focus.
  • Develops and implements digital marketing strategies for Space Foundation components, programs, project-specific plans, and products.
  • Leads the marketing and creative services teams to ensure collaborative efforts that meet larger organizational goals and objectives by standardizing operational procedures.
  • Participates in the strategic and tactical planning of Space Foundation's mission and vision.
  • Oversees the annual marketing budget and guides decisions on where to invest in outside resources and paid media strategies.
  • Create a culture of transparency and communication throughout the organization.
  • Ensures consistency of brand standards across all marketing and web channels.
  • Directs optimization of content for Space Foundation’s digital marketing accounts for SEO, SEM, Google Ad Words, Google Analytics, paid social activities, etc.
  • Utilizes Space Foundation digital platforms and tools to identify and engage target audiences; assess outreach efforts impacts; track digital marketing performance; and produce regular digital marketing reports on those efforts (e.g., analytics, ROI, etc.)
  • Build the vision for UX/UI to ensure positive user experiences aligning web and digital with product and service objectives.
  • Utilizes analytics tools to measure marketing efforts' effectiveness, identify growth challenges and opportunities, and present performance reports to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Develop strategies that enhance Space Foundations’ position as a leader among space organizations and align with the company's overall vision, mission, and brand positioning.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and growth opportunities.
  • Define target audiences and develop effective marketing campaigns to drive customer acquisition, retention, and brand loyalty.
  • Monitor marketing performance metrics and KPIs to assess campaign effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Experience building marketing and web budgets that drive top-line revenue.
  • Experience with HubSpot Marketing Enterprise for Social, Digital ads, (or similar digital marketing automation software/CRM software tools); email campaign marketing, web publishing, and its related platforms for target audience and message engagement.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive digital marketing roadmaps that include plans for integrating content into marketing initiatives, paid and organic search efforts, email marketing campaigns, lead generation, and email marketing funnels and tools (HubSpot), and social media strategies for existing products, new initiatives and paid social campaigns.
  • Expert level proficiency with the use of Microsoft products; Google Ad Words and other search engine optimization (SEO) tools; paid digital media and initiatives (e.g., display, pay per click (PPC), search engine marketing (SEM); and Google Analytics.
  • High level verbal and written communication and presentation skills across all media, enterprise, personal networks, and stakeholders, to effectively convey complex ideas and strategies to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven success in building and leading high-performing, cohesive cross-functional/cross-discipline teams, and ability to build relationships and collaborate across the organization, serving as a resource to others.
  • Ability to utilize technology and digital platforms to manage and administer work.
  • High performing individual with an enthusiasm and appreciation for advancing Space Foundation’s mission and strategic initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field. A post graduate degree is preferred. 
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing and web interface strategies.
     Strong understanding of web interface and best practices including SEO, SEM, UI/UX, and testing.

  • Proven leadership within technology and marketing, with a track record of driving innovation and achieving business growth.
  • In-depth knowledge of technology trends, digital marketing, data analytics, and customer segmentation strategies.

Individuals in this position will generally work indoors and have a workspace designated solely for them. Necessary office furnishings, equipment and supplies will be provided by the Foundation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may periodically be required to work outdoors and would be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The employee may periodically be required to work in an offsite environment or at special events, and from time to time may be asked to travel on Foundation business, at the Foundation’s expense. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

JOB STATUS: 

  • FLSA Classification: This position is exempt according to guidelines of the Fair Labor Standards Act and, as such, an individual in this position is not eligible to receive overtime pay.
  • Full- or Part-Time: This position is full-time in nature. An individual in this position will regularly work a schedule consisting of 40 hours per week.
  • Work Location: This position’s primary work site is Space Foundation’s headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO. The nature and responsibilities of this position are such that it is  eligible for Space Foundation’s hybrid work policy. Space Foundation’s hybrid work policy is onsite 3 days per week, with the option of working remote 2 days per week.
