Description

• Lead UX design and research for Our client.
• Develop new features and improve user experience for legal professionals.
• Conduct deep user research to understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities for digital transformation in the Japanese legal market.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, editors, and global design teams.
• Explore and ideate new approaches in legal-research adjacent segments and problem spaces
• Ensure alignment with global design standards while adapting to Japan’s market needs.
• Manage and prioritize the UX backlog, driving initiatives from research to implementation.
• Validate your designs through A/B testing (working with product management) and/or through qualitative research (either yourself or working with a UX researcher)

Job Qualifications:

• UX Research & Design Expertise – Strong experience in UX research, user-centered design, and prototyping using tools like Figma, PowerPoint , or other modern design platforms.
• Japanese Language Proficiency (Native-Level) – Strong ability to communicate with Japanese legal professionals and stakeholders.
• English Language proficiency (Business level or higher).
• Industry Knowledge – Prior experience in legal technology, professional services, or knowledge-based industries is a strong advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in UX design / UX research , preferably in enterprise or B2B software.
• Ability to work independently and provide strategic design insights.
• Experience working in agile product teams and collaborating with developers and product managers .
• Familiarity with legal tech or working with legal professionals is a plus.
• Experience with web-based search database products and mobile applications is advantageous.

Japanese Languages: Fluent level Japanese and business-level English.
