Position: Cat Scan Technologist\n\nShift Details:\n

Wednesday to Sunday or Tuesday to Saturday, from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Holidays required. No on-call duties.

\n\nJob Summary:\n

The Cat Scan Technologist is responsible for conducting computer tomography procedures and related techniques to produce sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation. This role also involves assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

\n\nEssential Job Functions:\n

\n
• Perform complex CT procedures with professionalism.
\n
• Review and document patient clinical histories for procedures, ensuring accuracy in PACS.
\n
• Prepare and verify the contrast questionnaire with patients and/or their family members.
\n
• Identify and administer contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
\n
• Communicate with the Radiologist and Referring Physician for clarification on prescriptions when necessary.
\n
• Verify insurance authorizations and coordinate with Finance for any required modifications.
\n
• Obtain outside studies and schedule them in EPIC for Radiologist comparison.
\n
• Provide exam copies to patients and requesting physicians or family members.
\n
• Evaluate radiographs using the PACS system to ensure identification and diagnostic quality.
\n
• Gather relevant information to prepare scanning protocols tailored to patient needs.
\n
• Ensure patient preparedness and provide appropriate comfort measures such as shielding or immobilization.
\n
• Administer correct types and doses of contrast media.
\n
• Offer clear explanations and instructions to patients regarding procedures.
\n
• Conduct venipuncture and monitor IV patency according to established guidelines.
\n
• Monitor patient conditions during procedures for any adverse reactions.
\n
• Fulfill scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends; overtime may be required.
\n
• Respond to on-call assignments as needed per departmental policies.
\n
• Maintain physical capabilities to lift 25 lbs. and push/pull 50 lbs.
\n
• Adapt care delivery based on the specific needs of diverse patient populations.
\n
• Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
\n

\n\nSchedule Notes:\n

Shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with the requirement of available holidays. No on-call assignments involved.

\n\nQualifications:\nRequired Skills & Experience:\n

\n
• Minimum of 2 years of CT experience is required; 5 years preferred.
\n
• Experience with GE Equipment, Epic EMR, and Fuji PACS.
\n
• Ability to maintain workflow in a busy emergency department.
\n
• Willingness to work in dual modalities (X-ray and CT).
\n

\n\nPreferred Skills & Experience:\n

\n
• Six months of CT experience preferred.
\n
• Familiarity with Epic and HIS/RIS systems is a plus.
\n

\n\nEducation:\n

\n
• Required: Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program; High School diploma or equivalent.
\n
• Preferred: N/A
\n

\n\nCertifications & Licensure:\n

\n
• Required: NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License, ARRT Certified R.T.(R), and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
\n
• Preferred: ARRT Certified R.T. (CT) license preferred.
\n
