Isotropic Networks is looking for a part-time Station Technician.

This position is ideal for retired veterans, retirees, and students who are looking for part-time work.

Pay Rate:
$20–$30 per hour (based on experience)
Workdays & Hours: Varying shifts, including weekends and overnights
Location: Truth or Consequences, New Mexico
Travel: Less than 20%
Relocation: Must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Connecting the Planet – Isotropic Networks is a global provider of satellite internet services. Position Purpose
The Station Technician supports the Station Manager by providing technical support and maintenance for all equipment and systems within the Earth Station facility. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure smooth operations. Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance and Repair
  • Perform routine maintenance on satellite communication equipment, including antennas, transmitters, receivers, and related hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operations.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers for technical support and replacement parts.
2. System Monitoring and Diagnostics
  • Monitor signal quality, transmission performance, and environmental conditions.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to analyze system performance and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation of equipment status, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting procedures.
3. Installation and Configuration
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and testing of new equipment and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during installations.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of equipment functionality.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. regularly.
  • Use of both hands and repetitive finger motion.
  • Must have both a close and distant vision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training (civilian or military, SATCOM preferred).
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Networking, or related field is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Relevant VSAT experience (in-house training provided).
