We are seeking a visionary and highly organized Senior Director of Design to lead the development and execution of our outerwear and RTW collections across our women’s and men’s divisions. Reporting directly to the CEO and Creative Director, this role leads a team of Designers and Assistant Designers, driving concept development and innovation while ensuring alignment with brand identity and business goals, with strong cross-functional collaboration and partnership with merchandising and product development. The ideal candidate brings strong aesthetic sensibility, team leadership experience, and expertise in outerwear & RTW design.

Some of What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Designers and Assistant Designers, fostering creative excellence, collaboration, and professional development
  • Research and analyze trends, fabrics, colours, and silhouettes to guide seasonal design direction
  • Present balanced collections to the Creative Director, CEO, and VP of Merchandising, informed by Seasonal Design Direction from the Creative Director, and merchandising plans from VP of Merchandising.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development team to ensure accurate execution of design through tech packs and specifications
  • Work with the Production team to align on development timelines, sample reviews, and production feasibility
  • Source and select fabrics, trims, and finishings in collaboration with internal sourcing partners
  • Guide and review graphic design elements (prints, labels, branding) with the in-house Graphic Artist to execute seasonal direction from Creative Director
  • Attend fit sessions with Technical Designers to review and refine prototypes, ensuring design integrity and functionality
  • Travel to New York, Europe, Asia for inspiration, competitive analysis, and fabric trade shows as needed
  • Travel to Asia for proto reviews and fittings as needed (in collaboration with Product Development and Production)
  • Prepare and lead internal Sales Meetings in partnership with Merchandising to present clear and compelling seasonal product assortments
  • Partner with Merchandising to understand seasonal market feedback and retail results to garner alignment on future product relevance and customer demand
  • Manage the design calendar and oversee key creative milestones and deadlines

Some of What You’ll Need:

  • Minimum 10+ years of design experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or director-level leadership role
  • Strong background in outerwear design ideal, with multi-category experience in both men’s and women’s
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing collaborative design teams
  • Deep understanding of garment construction, fabric performance, functional detailing, and in technical and down-filled outerwear
  • Highly collaborative and experienced in working cross-functionally with Product Development, Production, and Merchandising
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; PLM or other digital product tools an asset
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, solution-driven, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed for seasonal development
