The Opportunity

An innovative and rapidly expanding player in the ingredients and specialty solutions sector is on the hunt for an experienced Senior R&D professional to help bring next-generation premix and supplement solutions to life.

Position Description

This position is ideal for a passionate scientist who thrives at the intersection of science and commercialization—someone who can transform bold concepts into market-ready products across the food, nutrition, and companion animal industries.

This role offers the chance to lead cutting-edge product formulation initiatives from ideation through full-scale production, while also serving as a key scientific liaison between internal stakeholders and customer partners.

• Spearhead the development of new products, with a focus on innovative solutions for food, nutrition, and pet wellness.
• Translate market needs into practical, scalable formulations—whether through new development, refinement, or competitive ingredient matching.
• Lead R&D initiatives supporting premix brand expansion and proprietary product lines.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, and Pricing to ensure optimal cost structure and go-to-market success.
• Guide commercialization efforts from benchtop prototypes to plant trials, troubleshooting challenges and ensuring alignment with quality and regulatory standards.
• Partner directly with customers and business development teams on co-creation projects, technical presentations, and ideation workshops.
• Contribute to continuous product improvement by enhancing nutritional profiles, sensory attributes, functionality, and production efficiency.
• Represent the company at tradeshows, marketing activations, and customer demonstrations, contributing technical insights and market intelligence.
• Provide documentation, including product specifications, prototypes, and presentations, for internal and external use.
• Support customer site visits, joint calls, and pilot trials as needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks including GMP and HACCP.

Experience

5+ years of hands-on product development experience within the food, beverage, or supplement industry; background in vitamins, minerals, or nutraceuticals is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Food Science or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable navigating customer-facing projects with confidence and professionalism.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate technical data into persuasive narratives.
• Strong presentation capabilities and a collaborative mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital documentation systems.

Education

Master’s degree in Food Science or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred.
