Hays Civil Construction has partnered with our client, a leader in the Heavy Civil Infrastructure industry across Ontario, to hire a Senior Estimator to join their growing team in Vaughan.
Your new Company
The business brings over 40 years of experience in the Heavy Civil Infrastructure in Ontario, as a General Heavy Civil Contractor. The business delivers projects in water distribution, underground works, hydro, large bridge structures and other major civil works. Due to continued growth and progression planning, they are excited to grow their Estimating division, hiring a Senior Estimator.
Your new Role
Reporting to the VP, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for making estimates for proposals, bids, along with current projects in progress. In this role you will be responsible for calculating major cost estimates, and will be involved in the planning, development, negotiation and contract execution of a project. You will perform cost analysis, determine the duration of a project, procure vendors and subcontractors, and ensure that resources are managed, and deadlines met. You will work collaboratively to deliver properly organized estimates, budgets and schedules as well as tracking for a wide range of projects including heavy civil, environmental remediation, road works and underground construction.
What you’ll need to Succeed
To succeed as the Senior Estimator, you will bring a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and/ or a combination of equivalent experience and training. You will bring 8+ years of relevant experience in estimating in heavy civil construction, with a focus in earthwork, roadwork, bridges, underground and buildings in Municipal and MTO contracts. Experience pushing infrastructure projects from 10-400 million. Experience with HeavyBid or other estimating software. You will be a strong communicator, highly organized and exceptional at time management and multitasking.
