Title: Backend Developer – Azure & Agentic AI Platform

Location: Remote (open to Canada/USA)

Type: Long-term Contract

About the Role:

Join one of our premier consulting clients as a Backend Developer , contributing to the build-out of a next-generation AI and Automation platform on Microsoft Azure. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and scale backend services and APIs that power intelligent data workflows, AI agents, and enterprise-grade user experiences across a modern cloud ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy secure, scalable backend services using Node.js and Azure App Services .
• Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices supporting AI workflows.
• Integrate LLM APIs and LangChain frameworks to enable Agentic AI capabilities.
• Work with data from structured, semi-structured, and unstructured sources.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams on ingestion, mapping, and extraction pipelines.
• Implement DevOps best practices for CI/CD, testing, and version control.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years in backend development with strong Node.js experience.
• Proficiency in Azure App Services , RESTful APIs , and microservice architecture .
• Experience with PostgreSQL and at least one NoSQL database (CosmosDB, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.).
• Working knowledge of LangChain for AI agent development.
• Familiarity with Python for AI or data processing integrations.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines , Git , and Azure DevOps .

Preferred:

• Exposure to Azure Data Factory , Azure Blob Storage , and data ingestion pipelines .
• Experience with Docker / Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) .
• Knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance best practices on Azure.
