Japan-based branch of a global specialty chemicals and materials company

Join a leading global specialty chemicals and materials company's Japan branch as a Quality Assurance Specialist, ensuring that products and processes meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This role is ideal for a professional passionate about maintaining operational excellence and regulatory integrity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures.
• Conduct audits and inspections of production processes and finished products.
• Identify quality issues and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Manage and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in compliance with local and global regulations.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams for SDS documentation updates.
• Ensure proper labeling and handling of hazardous materials per SDS guidelines.
• Register chemical substances and manage related SDS documentation.
• Support import/export control tasks, including COA issuance.
• Assist with internal and external audits, including ISO and regulatory inspections.
• Collaborate across production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Maintain quality documentation, test results, and compliance records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Quality Management, or related field.
• Proven experience in quality assurance or control within manufacturing or technical settings.
• Knowledge of SDS regulations (GHS, REACH, OSHA) and chemical safety documentation.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality-related software tools.
• Business-level Japanese and preferably English communication skills.

Preferred

• Certification in Six Sigma, CQE, or equivalent.
• Experience with SPC, RCA, and SDS management systems.
