Job#: 2084525 Job Description: Title: QA Program Lead (JIRA-Focused | Multi-Stream Oversight)
Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our staffing practice has an opening for a QA Program Lead to place at our client. The ideal candidate will have experience leading QA across complex enterprise programs, with strong expertise in JIRA, cross-functional coordination, and end-to-end test strategy ownership.
Location: Downtown Toronto
In Office Frequency: 2x per week (Hybrid)
Hours per Week: 37.5

Key Responsibilities: - Lead QA across multiple workstreams within a broader enterprise program
- Drive and own the end-to-end QA strategy, aligning teams and deliverables
- Build and manage JIRA dashboards and workflows to track testing progress, dependencies, and defects across streams
- Coordinate test planning, execution, and reporting across technical and business teams
- Facilitate defect triage, risk-based prioritization, and status updates to stakeholders
- Ensure full test coverage, traceability, and alignment to project milestones
- Mentor QA leads/testers across streams and ensure consistency in process and reporting
- Collaborate with DevOps to ensure proper test environment setup and pipeline integration
- Present QA metrics and status reports to senior leadership
Qualifications: - 8+ years of experience in QA with at least 3 years leading QA at the program level
- Strong command of JIRA for cross-project dashboards, workflow management, and tracking
- Experience defining and executing QA strategy across multiple delivery teams
- Excellent understanding of SDLC, STLC, and testing best practices
- Proficient with test management tools like Azure DevOps, Confluence, HP ALM, etc.
- Strong communication skills; able to interface confidently with leadership, QA, and dev teams
- Experience in regulated environments (financial services, insurance, etc.) is a strong asset
- Nice to have: exposure to automation, CI/CD pipelines, performance or security testing
