Profee Diagnostic Radiology Coder Location: Remote (US Wide) Experience Required 3+ years Coder work experience 2+ years of Oncology coding experience . EPIC/3M 360 CAC/coderyte Codeassist experience Experience in diagnostic Profee coding, including knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, LCD/NCD, and CCI. Understanding of how to apply modifiers correctly, global packages, and experience in teaching hospitals. Experience in abstracting documentation for proper diagnosis coding. Proficiency with coding tools like 3M Coderyte, CodeAssist, and EPIC. Familiarity with diagnostic radiology procedures such as CTs, MRIs, ultrasounds, mammograms, biopsies, X-rays, and nuclear medicine. Summary Analyzes medical records and abstracts clinical data by assigning codes from patient records according to coding classification systems. Reviews patient encounters for accurate code assignment of diagnoses and procedures, entering codes into the hospital's system for billing. Queries physicians when documentation is unclear or inadequate. Serves as a resource for other departments regarding coded data. Key Functions: Analyze medical records and assign codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) accurately. Review patient encounters and ensure correct code assignment, exporting codes from systems like CodeRyte or Epic. Assign modifiers and apply coding guidelines per LCD and CCI. Meet or exceed departmental accuracy and productivity standards. Maintain coding knowledge through continuing education and literature review. Query physicians when documentation is ambiguous or inadequate. Resolve coding edits in Epic by reviewing documentation and code assignments. Adapt to changing work assignments with flexibility. Exercise good judgment in coding and auditing decisions. Maintain knowledge of institutional coding policies and guidelines from CMS, AMA, AHA, etc. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Prior hospital oncology coding experience; at least one coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS, COC).
