About the Role:
Are you an experienced retail, shipping, and printing professional looking to join a dynamic team? The UPS Store is seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Retail & Print Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting with a variety of shipping, packing, and printing services. This is a family-owned business where we value every team member as part of our close-knit work family.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide custom printing, copying, and document finishing services (including lamination and Binding)
- Assist customers with shipping and packing
- Process shipments using UPS and other carriers
- Handle faxing, scanning, and mailbox services
- Operate a point-of-sale system (POS) and manage cash transactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional store environment
What We're Looking For:
- Extensive printing experience is required (including wide format printing)
- Experience with finishing equipment
- Experience with graphic design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) is an asset
- Previous experience at The UPS Store, FedEx Office, USPS, or a similar retail environment
- Strong customer service, and communication skills
- Ability to follow the 5-step sales & customer service process.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment
- A friendly and outgoing personality with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to adhere to The UPS Store® uniform standards
- Strong attendance and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and retain information during the probation period
Skills Needed:
- Previous experience in retail shipping and/or print industry is highly preferred
- Experience in graphic design and proficiency in Photoshop or similar programs is an asset
- Strong upselling skills with the ability to promote products effectively.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and providing change.
- Proficient in using computers and commonly used business software (Familiarity with POS systems is advantageous.)
- Quick and accurate typing and data entry
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $17-19 per hour (based on experience)
- Average Weekly Hours: 16 hours per week (4 hours per day, 4 days a week), with the potential for hours and days to increase based on store needs
