Registered Nurse – PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)

Facility: Sinai Hospital – LifeBridge Health
Location: 2401 W Belvedere Ave, Baltimore, MD 21215
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Nights – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: 3 weekend shifts per schedule period

 

Position Overview

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse provides critical care nursing to pediatric, infant, and adolescent patients with life-threatening or high-acuity conditions. This role involves managing complex cases such as respiratory failure, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), sepsis, seizures, and post-operative recovery.

Nurses will work within a multidisciplinary team, providing advanced monitoring, administering drips, managing ventilator and respiratory support, and maintaining central and arterial lines. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in pediatric critical care and be comfortable managing a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.

RNs may be required to float to Pediatrics and Pediatric ED as needed.

 

Requirements
  • Licensure: Active MD RN License or Compact License – Required at submission
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent PICU experience – Required
  • Patient Ratio Experience: Comfortable with 1:2 ratios
  • Travel Experience: Accepted (First-time travelers welcome)
  • Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred
Certifications
  • BLS (AHA) – Required
  • PALS (AHA) – Required
Charting System
  • Cerner – Required
