Date Available: 08/06/2026 C-TEC is seeking a knowledgeable and student-focused
Physical Therapy & Exercise Science Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year to lead a comprehensive, hands-on program designed to prepare high school students for postsecondary education, industry credentials, and careers in health, fitness, and rehabilitation fields. This instructor will deliver engaging instruction aligned to industry standards while emphasizing injury prevention, patient care, fitness training, and human movement science.
Program Overview The Physical Therapy & Exercise Science program prepares students who are interested in helping individuals prevent injuries, relieve pain, and improve strength, mobility, and overall wellness. Students gain foundational knowledge and practical experience in physical therapy and exercise science while working toward recognized certifications and credentials.
Currently students have opportunities to earn or sit for the following:
- American Heart Association CPR (Adult, Child, Infant) with AED
- American Heart Association First Aid Certification
- Certified Personal Trainer credential
- Physical Therapy Aide Exam
Instructional Responsibilities - Deliver standards-based instruction in physical therapy and exercise science concepts, including:
- Exercise physiology
- First aid and emergency procedures
- Fitness training and conditioning
- Injury prevention, recognition, and evaluation
- Sports psychology
- Therapeutic modalities
- Research methods and data analysis
- Develop and implement hands-on lab experiences, simulations, and applied learning activities.
- Prepare students for industry certifications, credentials, and postsecondary pathways.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional learning environment that reflects real-world healthcare and fitness settings.
- Integrate employability skills such as professionalism, communication, teamwork, and ethical practice.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and industry partners to strengthen program outcomes.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher in Exercise Science, Physical Therapy, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, or a related field
- Relevant industry experience in physical therapy, exercise science, athletic training, or fitness.
- Current or ability to obtain CPR andFirst Aid certification.
- Teaching experience and/or willingness to obtain career-technical teaching credentials as required by the state.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with high school students.
- Industry certifications such as Certified Personal Trainer, Athletic Trainer, or related credentials.
- Experience preparing students for credentialing or certification exams.
