Physical Power Trader (f/m/d)
Workload: 80–100%

What you will do:

• Develop and manage local physical Japan Power books to generate margins and enhance profitability.
• Expand prop trading (physical and paper) with existing and new counterparties in Japan, focusing on power and related fuels.
• Implement and monitor prop strategies defined by the APAC Power desk.
• Lead contract negotiations, due diligence, and trade execution in coordination with internal teams.
• Provide trading expertise to support origination activities in Japan.
• Ensure compliance with risk, regulatory, and internal rules.
• Build and strengthen Axpo’s commercial networks within the APAC energy industry.
• Collaborate with traders, analysts, and teams across APAC and HQ to structure new products and execute transactions.

What you bring & who you are:

• University degree in business, finance, economics, or energy-related fields.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in power trading in Japan, ideally in utilities, retailers, or trading houses.
• Expertise in physical power trading on JPEX/OTC, scheduling rules, and operations.
• Strong knowledge of hedging, power, fuels, renewable market fundamentals, rules, and regulations.
• Creativity in deal-making and structuring, driven by results.
• Demonstrated negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Fluency in English and Japanese is mandatory for this role.
