Job Description

Poppins Nursery School is seeking for experienced and friendly English teachers!

Poppins operates more than 330 Nursery schools in Japan, and we have children up to 6 years old. The main duties of English teachers are planning, preparing materials, and leading English lessons to different age groups of children. You will also work as an assistant to Japanese nursery school teachers.

The main purpose of having English teachers in our nursery schools is not only for teaching English to the children, but teaching about respecting other cultures, languages, and people who are different from them. This includes taking children for a walk, helping them eating lunch and snacks, taking care of them while having a nap, and doing various activities with Japanese nursery school teachers.

We provide children an environment in which they can absorb English and different cultures and values naturally.

English teachers have a meeting and a workshop once a month to share information and ideas for lessons with each other.

Salary

• ¥230,000 - ¥300,000/ Month
• Negotiable based on qualifications and experience
• Paid transportation allowance

Location

• Assigned location among Poppins 330 nurseries.
• Usually one school per day.

Requirements

• English ability: Native level
• Must currently reside in Japan and have a valid working visa
• 1+ years of teaching experience in early childhood education
• Experience with children aged 11 months-6 years is preferable
• Bachelor's degree (Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred)
• A love of working with little children

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience working with children in Japan is required, although less is acceptable with the appropriate qualifications in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.

Contract

• Renewable one-year.

Working Hours

• 9 hours/day (incl. 1 hour unpaid break time). An actual working day will be 8 hours, 5 days a week. The schedule is usually  9 am - 6 pm.
• Paid overtime or work on holiday may be needed

Holidays

• Saturday, Sunday or 2 days a week & National Holidays off
• Winter holiday
• 10 Paid holidays will be provided after first 6 months (for 1st year)
