Salary: $50K and up DOE

Shoreline Christian School, located north of Seattle, is seeking a full time Music Teacher 4th - 12th Grade starting immediately in the 25-26 school year. Classes consist of MS Choir, MS Orchestra, HS Choir, HS Orchestra along with 4th and 5th grade general music classes. We offer medical, dental, vision, 403B, life insurance, and PTO. Salary range for an experienced teacher starts at $50,000 and up DOE. Our greatest accomplishment and hope as teachers is that every child will know that they are special and created in Gods image.

This is a unique opportunity to integrate faith and learning in action and to individualize attention while developing the God-given strengths of each student. You will enable students to live as dynamic and transforming influences in the world. We are seeking candidates who have a vision for designing a program around their strengths and our students' unique talents.

We invite you to join our diverse community and collaborate with colleagues who have a deep passion for education and serving their community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

If you have a BA and have work experience in music, conducting, or performance, please feel free to apply. Experience in Christian education and a degree specifically in secondary conducting (both orchestra and choir) are highly desirable. As a community with a shared statement of faith, an active, intentional, and embodied Christian faith is essential. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check, receipt of all college transcripts, and all other state requirements for private schools.

Minimum:

  • Bachelor degree in education or related field
  • Professional work experience in a related field of study

Preferred:

  • A bachelor degree in Seconday Music Education
  • A valid Washington State teaching certificate or working towards a valid Washington State teaching certificate
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with instruction of youth using sound research-based instruction, best practices, and pedagogy
  • Experience in teaching choral and instrumental music to all levels (both in age/grade and experience/proficiency)
  • Knowledge of and application of educational technology

We keep classes small to differentiate instruction, to create a community of belonging, and to help students explore their God-given strengths. We pursue excellence in everything we do for the glory of God, and we recognize that a healthy student learner is a hallmark of true excellence.

How to apply:

Please submit 1) a resum, 2) a cover letter summarizing your relevant qualifications and why you want to teach here, 3) a list of three references, and 4) an essay that addresses the degree to which you subscribe to the Statement of Faith and how you integrate faith in your teaching philosophy.

Please read Shoreline Christian Schools Statement of Faith and the Considerations regarding Sexuality document Considerations Document
