EIRE Systems partners with a major Financial Institution in Tokyo, for the management of a dedicated infrastructure for a suite of proprietary Electronic Trading Systems.
The technology environment is built on fit-for-purpose hardware and software solutions and designed utilizing modern automation and orchestration concepts for rapid deployment, build and configuration management and monitoring.
We have a fantastic new career opportunity for an experienced Unix/Linux System Administrator to work with a team of talented and highly experienced engineers for supporting the production operations and continuous development of system improvements of this infrastructure.
Working onsite at our client's Tokyo head office, the role functions as a member of a team of Linux SAs and Network Engineers working within a business critical, high availability, enterprise environment.
Role Description:
● Working closely with the client’s technology infrastructure and applications development teams to deliver technical support and system enhancements for the client’s Electronic-trading environment.
● Engineering and Technical Support for Linux-based physical and virtual systems infrastructure including hardware, OS, tools, supporting services & software that run on that infrastructure., i.e. Linux servers (RedHat), Storage, Monitoring solutions, Automation/Orchestration, Configuration Management tools, Build Management tools.
● Support for system maintenance, changes, upgrades and enhancements as per client requirements.
● Incident response, troubleshooting and execution of technical solutions
● Contribute to development of tools and scripts to automate build and administration tasks and to optimize system performance.
● Perform support duties in compliance with corporate Change Management, Incident Management procedures and guidelines.
● Be pro-active in learning new technologies and contribute ideas toward ongoing system improvements. However also be diligent and conscientious toward maintaining stability of the production environment as the highest priority.
● Be pro-active in communications with both the team and the client’s management for reviewing and recommending operational improvements to the service provided by EIRE.
Skills/Experience:
● Linux Systems administration experience in an enterprise environment is a must
● Experience working in the financial technology domain preferred
● Experience with concepts and tools for automating deployment and process orchestration - Ansible, Cobbler (preferred) or similar
● Familiarity with some of the following tools: Git, Artifactory, Teamcity, Bitbucket/Stash
● Scripting skills using a variety of scripting languages (ideally Python)
● Professional level communication skills using English
● Japanese language skills not required, but advantageous
