Job Description
Robert Half is sourcing for a Legal Operations Manager to support a Corporate Client. In this role, you will oversee legal operations, ensuring efficient processes and compliance across various corporate functions. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives while managing key legal and administrative responsibilities.
Law Firm Management:
Serve as the primary liaison for all law firm engagements, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring optimal service delivery.
Oversee onboarding of new law firms, including contract negotiation and compliance with company policies.
Monitor performance and manage reporting against established expectations for external counsel, including handling service level agreements (SLAs).
Billing and Financial Oversight:
Manage legal billing processes, including overseeing e-billing systems and reviewing invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Work collaboratively with the finance team to track legal spend, prepare budgets, and identify opportunities for cost savings or efficiencies.
Develop processes to monitor external counsel billing rates, ensure adherence to billing guidelines, and maintain transparency in spend reporting.
Corporate Governance & Maintenance:
Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements, including maintaining records, managing organizational filings, and administering annual reports.
Oversee the maintenance of corporate entities, including formation, dissolution, licensing, and renewal processes.
Support in preparing board materials, resolutions, and shareholder communications as necessary.
Process Improvement:
Assess and refine existing legal processes, establishing best practices and frameworks to improve legal operations.
Evaluate and implement tools and technologies, such as matter management platforms or contract lifecycle software, to enhance efficiency and increase automation.
Partner with internal stakeholders across departments to streamline workflows and create greater integration between legal operations and business processes.
Policies and Training:
Draft, implement, and enforce policies for external vendors, legal compliance, and internal legal operations.
Provide training and resources to internal stakeholders regarding updated policies, procedures, and legal processes.
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance, compliance, and maintenance processes.
• Familiarity with legal billing systems and file organization best practices.
• Ability to manage relationships with external law firms and vendors.
• Expertise in maintaining legal templates and monitoring regulatory changes.
• Experience with corporate legal management systems.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on enterprise-wide initiatives.
