Sr. Specialist, Business development

Purpose statement

This position plays a crucial role in driving innovation through collaboration with startups based on the strategy of Boston Scientific Japan. The Senior Associate will be responsible for identifying promising partners via external activities such as acceleration programs, developing and leading strategic initiatives to address business challenges and/or accelerate existing business growth of Boston Scientific Japan.

本ポジションは、Boston Scientific Japanの戦略に準じて、スタートアップ等との協業を通じたイノベーションを推進する重要な役割を担います。Senior Specialistは、アクセラレーションプログラムなどの外部活動を通じて有望なパートナーを探索し、Boston Scientific Japanのビジネス課題への対応や既存事業の成長を加速するための戦略的イニシアチブを立案・推進します。

Key responsibilities

1. • Identify, evaluate and support promising partners through external activities such as acceleration programs

アクセラレーションプログラムなどの外部活動を通じた有望なスタートアップ等の発掘・評価・支援

1. • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop strategic initiatives to address business challenges and/or accelerate existing business growth

社内外ステークホルダーと連携したビジネス課題への対応や既存事業の成長加速を目的とした戦略的イニシアチブの企画・立案

1. • Lead the execution of strategic initiatives, including project management and stakeholder management etc

プロジェクトやステークホルダーマネジメントを含む戦略的イニシアチブの実行リード

1. • Manage existing key partnerships and projects, and identify opportunities for growth, productivity, and expansion.

既存のパートナーシップやプロジェクトを管理し、事業の成長・生産性向上・拡大の機会を見出す

Key qualifications

• Must have
  • 3+ years of startup acceleration, business development experience

スタートアップ支援、ビジネスデベロップメントにおける3年以上の経験

• • Project management experience in cross-functional teams

クロスファンクショナルなチームでのプロジェクトマネジメント経験

• • Native level of Japanese

ネイティブレベルの日本語力(パートナーとの交渉や契約に関するやりとり等ができるレベル)

• Nice to have
  • Medical device or pharmaceutical industry experience

医療機器あるいは製薬業界の経験

• • Knowledge and experience in quality management/processes required for medical devices, etc

医療機器などに求められる品質マネジメント/プロセスなどの知識・経験

• • Communication skill to understand the interests of internal and external stakeholders and to build consensus or resolve issues

社内外ステークホルダーの利害関係を理解し、合意形成あるいは課題解決できるコミュニケーションスキル

• • Flexibility to adapt to change and unforeseen circumstances.

変化や不測の事態にもフレキシブルに対応していく能力

• • Knowledge and experience in valuation and due diligence as venture capitalist etc

ベンチャーキャピタリストとしてのバリュエーション・デューデリジェンスに関する知識・経験

• • Business-level English proficiency (as communication with overseas stakeholders may be required)

ビジネスレベルの英語力（海外ステークホルダーとのコミュニケーションが発生する可能性あり）

• このポジションは最速で2026年1月勤務開始を予定しています。

Expected start date: January 2026 or later

• ご経験により ～1100万円 (ボーナス10％を含む、毎年3月支給)
