Job Description

Interior Designer – Technical Focus (Office Furniture Design & Coordination)

Overview:

We are a North American-based office furniture company seeking an Interior Designer with a strong technical skillset to support our team in bringing custom furniture projects to life. This role is ideal for someone with a background in interior design who excels in technical drawings, project coordination, and vendor communication.

This is an in-office position located in Brantford, ON. Our business hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM and Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate technical furniture drawings using AutoCAD, CET Designer, or similar tools.
  • Develop and maintain project workback schedules using Asana.
  • Coordinate with vendors to confirm specifications, finishes, and production details.
  • Support the sales team with layouts, drawings, finish packages, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure design deliverables are organized, accurate, and ready for internal and external review.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in interior design with a focus on technical drawings and commercial or furniture-related projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (required); CET Designer is a strong asset.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Asana.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple design tasks with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work full-time, in-office, Monday to Friday.
  • A team player who is comfortable supporting multiple people and projects at once.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in contract furniture or commercial interiors.
  • Familiarity with North American furniture standards and BIFMA compliance.
