Job Description



Accountabilities:

  • Retrieve patient records from the electronic health record, microfilm as requested by internal/external customers
  • Prepare charts for scanning, scan documents, perform QA, index documents in accordance with established procedures
  • Answer department telephone and respond to faxed requests from internal and external customers, and person to person (walk-ins) requests related to health information management functions, such as chart requests
  • Sort charts following patient discharge
  • Log and complete medical requests for patient information
  • Results distribution
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure department workload is covered

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited health information management program
  • Minimum one year experience in a Health Information Management Department within a hospital environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a busy environment and accurately perform tasks
  • Experience with Meditech MRI Module
  • Experience with on-line scanning applications
  • Experience adhering to policies, procedures and quality control in relation to electronic imaging
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to learn

  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
  • May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

Additional Information



Currently Days/Evenings including weekends (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Fully Onsite role: Roles involved in direct patient care that are needed onsite for each shift

Salary: May 2024
Minimum: $24.72 per hour
Maximum: $26.60 per hour
