Job Requirements

• Applicants able to work in Tokyo are welcome (relocation support negotiable)
• Applicants residing in Japan and holding any resident status other than "Temporary visitor" are welcome
• Education:

For all applicants: a Bachelors degree is required for Visa Sponsorship.

For non-native speakers of English:  a Bachelors or Masters degree  completed in English or 12 + years of Primary and Secondary education  completed in English are required for Visa Sponsorship.

• Experiences:

Applicants that have experiences teaching English to children ages 0-2 or any experiences working in a Japanese nursery are welcome. However, it is not necessary. Teachers with experiences with other age groups and motivated to learn applicants without experience are also welcome!

• Language

Japanese language proficiency : Conversational- Advanced level (N3-N2 level, but no certification required)

English language proficiency : Advanced level

• Certification

For all applicants: Obtaining a "Kosodate Shien-in" (childcare support) certificate is mandatory for full-time employement.

Applicants who have obtained the certificate are welcome to start working as a  full-time employee as soon as possible.

Applicants interested in obtaining the certificate can start working as soon as possible as a  part-time employee until the issuance of the certificate by the Municipal Office. The school offers study support systems for applicants willing to obtain a "Kosodate Shien-in" certificate.

Part-time employees guaranteed advancement to full-time position after obtaining the "Kosodate Shien-in" certificate.

Job Description

My Tomodachi Japan is looking to hire passionate and friendly teachers to prepare and teach English lessons to children and assist with some nursery school responsibilities such as: playtime, toilet training, changing diapers and so on. We are looking for dedicated and motivated applicants who can start as soon as possible,  and who are looking to advance their career in education.

Salary

200,000 yen / month (1st year)

Competitive yearly raises and bi-annual bonus in March and August are available based on yearly performance evaluation.

*For the first year of employment only one bonus will be given out. Starting from the second year of employment 2 bonuses in March and August will be given out.

For applicants in the process of obtaining the "Kosodate Shien-in" certificate a part time contract with an hourly rate of 1400 yen is offered.

Working hours

Working hours: Fixed 8 hour shifts with 1 hour break for 5 days per week, with varying shifts from Mondays to Saturdays

Possible shift patterns:  8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Expected working hours: 40 hours/week

For applicants in the process of obtaining the "Kosodate Shien-in" certificate a part time contract with working hours of 40 hours/week is offered.

Days off: 2 days off per week (sometimes teacher might be asked to work on a Saturday and have an additional day off during the work week), National Holidays, year-end Holidays
