Job Description

We are currently seeking an EHS Specialist for one of our leading clients in the manufacturing industry.

Location:

Greater Toronto Area, ON

Responsibilities:

• Administer Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs and environmental initiatives to ensure compliance.
• Conduct thorough audits for ISO 14001, 18000, and IATF 16949 safety standards.
• Chair Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and oversee investigations.
• Develop and implement effective training programs on safety protocols.
• Review and update policies to align with current legislation and best practices.
• Investigate workplace accidents and prepare comprehensive reports for management and regulatory bodies.
• Interact with local governmental authorities and maintain positive relationships.
• Manage hazardous waste disposal and storage following regulations.
• Conduct industrial hygiene assessments and Personal Protective Equipment evaluations.
• Schedule and support HSE sampling and testing, including air, water, and noise surveys.
• Ensure compliance with WHIMS requirements and update the SDS database.
• Maintain effective housekeeping practices and uphold safety regulations at all times.

Qualification:

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in the environmental, health, and safety field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant health and safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in interpreting environmental and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including leading Joint Health and Safety Committees.
• Familiarity with WSIB claims procedures and ISO 14001 standards.
