What we need:

We’re seeking an Employee Communications Manager to support key businesses and business partners in their varied employee communications needs.

This position is part communications consultant, part change manager, part writer and part strategist, providing communication plans aligned to business objectives and delivering key messages to employees that ultimately help enhance the employee experience at Mohawk.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and implement strategy for internal communications to include employee relations/organizational effectiveness (communicating the organization’s goals to all employees) ensuring that updated business information is shared appropriately throughout the organization. 
• Provide ongoing communications support to all assigned business areas and business partners, primarily facilitated through Human Resources.
• Ensure the accuracy of all printed materials distributed on behalf of the organization to internal and external sources.  Work with Mohawk Creative to revise and improve these tools as needed.
• Work with senior HR management to ensure that all employee-impacting change, such as new processes, policies and procedures, are communicated quickly and that necessary follow up is in place.
• Serve as internal consultant to departments seeking communications tools, key messaging and other deliverables to facilitate better communication and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their groups.
• Provide change management consultation, planning and execution in collaboration with business partners supporting key organizational changes.
• Provide crisis communication support and direction as needed.

What you have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
• 3-5+ years in communications-related field, including corporate communications, journalism, marketing, PR agency or independently owned boutique production and/or consultant company

What you’re good at:

• Communicating effectively with a wide range of individuals in written, oral and interpersonal form 
• Staying organized and paying attention to detail in a fast-paced environment 
• Maintaining technical proficiency with the software, equipment and web-based tools necessary to leverage all available channels in support of employee communication
• Identifying, understanding and evaluating audiences – quickly determining and explaining who needs to know what, when, how and why
• Taking ownership of a project or task, thinking outside of the box and creating solutions that drive results
• Connecting with and influencing employees, stakeholders and partners at all levels, and building strong relationships
• Working autonomously as well as collaboratively
