Job Description

Design and Development:
• Design wire and cable products based on customer specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.
• Develop new designs for cables and wiring systems that meet performance, durability, and environmental standards.
• Specify appropriate materials (e.g., conductors, insulators, jackets, etc.) for each application.
• Use design software (e.g., AutoCAD or specialized cable design tools) to create detailed schematics and models.
Prototyping and Testing:
• Conduct tests on prototype cables to ensure they meet design specifications, electrical performance, and environmental resilience.
• Analyze test results and make design adjustments as needed.
• Perform simulations to predict performance under various conditions (e.g., temperature, mechanical stress).
Collaboration:
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure the design is manufacturable and cost-effective.
• Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide technical support.
Coordinate with suppliers to source materials, components, and equipment.
Standards and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as UL, RoHS, and other relevant certifications.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, new materials, and regulatory changes that could impact design practices.
Documentation:
• Prepare technical documentation for designs, including specifications and manufacturing instructions.
• Create and maintain detailed records of designs, prototypes, and test results. • Degree: University degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 1 year in a wire and cable design engineering role, preferably in an international manufacturing environment.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD or other cable design tools; familiarity with simulation software is a plus.
• Other: Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Occasional request workshop, testing lab visit or business trip for client meeting.
• Language: Proficient in English
