Job Description
Our client is looking for a Control Room Operator in Lloydminster. The operation is a 24 hour/365-day operation that requires the operator to work 12 hour rotational shift schedule on both days and nights once fully trained.
Requirements - The ability to remotely control and operate pipeline facilities including terminals and Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) stations utilizing SCADA and Leak Detection systems.
- Follow the Superintendents Expectations for Control Room Operations.
- Working collaboratively with the midstream team, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and SCADA Technicians.
- Strong Communication skills, Clear speech, good hearing, and a professional telephone manner
- Calm and reassuring under pressure.
- Deal with confidential and sensitive information.
- Polite, friendly, efficient, and helpful attitude.
- Able to Prioritize situations and tasks.

- Follow set procedures and deal with emergency/abnormal conditions.
- Work shift, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Competencies - Access and review daily production data and respond accordingly to complete volume metric balancing
- Comply with all safe work practices and procedures, regulatory and environmental requirements following the Control Room Management Plan and the client's Management systems
- The role involves the safe operation of pipelines ensuring the public, Health, Safety, and environment
- Decision making is based on the control room operators using processes and procedures, experiences, and with support from upper management.
- Problem solving is based on the control room operators using Abnormal and emergency procedures, experiences, SCADA technician support, and with support from upper management
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and independently prioritize tasks.
- Ability to demonstrate Pass/Fail on the simulator using real issues and following process to safely respond to those issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrated self-motivation and inclination to accept increased operational responsibilities
- Excellent computer skills including experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and SAP
Candidate must possess at least one of the following certifications: - Gas Process Operator (GPO) certificate
- Production Field Operator (PFO) certificate
- Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering certificate
- Journeyman tradesperson
Other Qualification Requirements - Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Completion of Engineering technology diploma would be an asset
