Concrete Finisher

• Job Location:  Based in Calgary, AB, work in various locations in the Calgary area; travel expenses are covered by the employer.
• Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal, full-time (30 to 60 hours per week, weather dependent), Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime
• Wage: $32.00 – $35.00 /hour (based on skills and experience); salary increases based on performance, per company’s policy.

Job requirements:

• Language: Basic English
• Education: Not required
• Experience: 3 years of related experience
• Work setting: Roads and bridges, Sidewalks and curbs
• Types of materials used: Sealers
• Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads (Up to 23 kg/50 lbs), Bending, crouching, kneeling, Standing for extended periods, Attention to detail
• Work Site Environment: Outdoors
• Personal Suitability: Accurate, Team player
• Tools and Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Duties:

• Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
• Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
• Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
• Must participate and adhere to all safety rules and procedures
