Essential Job Functions:

• Set up and run Mori Seki NL1500 SY CNC lathes with live tooling: Responsible for installing and properly aligning all fixtures and tooling required to setup and/or prove out new and repeat jobs. Maintain machine setup and tooling to produce high quality close tolerance parts at an acceptable production rate in a busy shop. Employ knowledge of machine controls, program codes, fixtures and tool offsets, and CNC systems; edit programs as required
• Utilize all necessary gages and equipment to properly inspect parts
• Troubleshoot minor issues within the machine shop
• Understand and properly utilize all items included in job router/traveler 
• Deburr parts as needed
• Perform other related tasks including but not limited to performing housekeeping tasks required to keep the work area safe, clean and organized
• Have pride in workmanship and a strong desire to utilize skills and knowledge to consistently produce quality parts
• Keep leadership aware of any condition that may affect the efficiency, quality or completion of jobs, and assist in continuous improvement activities within the machine shop
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:  

• 1 year or more CNC machining experience; experience with Swiss turn lathes a plus
• Understanding and application of machining best practices
• Ability to read and understand advanced blueprint features and shop routers/travelers
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with others and independently
• Ability to be focused, positive and produce quality work under pressure and tight timelines
• Ability to multi-task
• 5S experience a plus

Physical Requirements:  

• Must be able to stand up 9 or more hours per day
• Must be able to bend, stoop, use hands and lift up to 50 lbs
• Good manual dexterity to work with small parts and tools
