NEW CLIMBING GYM EMPLOYMENT POSITION

CLIMB YUKON COLLECTIVE
POSITION: Floor/Front Desk Staff
Position Description: Ensure a welcoming, safe, educational and fun environment for all climbers and visitors to the Climb Yukon Collective (YCC) gym. To provide safe high-quality activities and a best value experience for all gym users and guests. Offer and provide services to gym climbers and guests in keeping with, and in support of, the mission of the Yukon Climbing Association
Salary

$18-20 hour, part time and full time

Responsibilities and Requirements

Customer Service & Front Desk Operations

- Greet and check in gym members and guests with professionalism and warmth

-Process payments for day passes, memberships, and merchandise using Rock Gym Pro software

-Answer customer inquiries in person, by phone, social media and email

-Provide information on gym policies, safety rules, and membership options

-Assist with managing reservations and bookings for classes, groups, and events

Facility Oversight & Safety

- Monitor the climbing area and gym to ensure a safe and positive experience for all participants

-Safety instruction for new and all climbers as needed, including as staff employees are trained by YCC on participant gym orientation, skill training, assessment and coaching for; overall gym use, belaying, bouldering, top rope climbing, lead climbing, route setting

-Maintain cleanliness and organization of climbing areas, front desk, facility common spaces, climbing equipment, climbing wall structures

-Monitor and enforce facility rules and safety protocols

-Document, report and respond to all safety, injury, illness, conflict, property damage or loss and near miss incidents as these apply to the employee and all participants attending the gym, including YCC employees and volunteers, visitors and pubic engaged in any activity at the gym

-Take part in all training requirements provided by YCC and maintain a satisfactory skill assessment of these requirements

Community Engagement & Events

- Be a friendly and approachable representative of Climb Yukon Collective’s values and culture

-Assist with running gym events, competitions, and member engagement activities

-Assist with community and client outreach activities and promotions that includes

- Visits and presentations to prospective user/groups, production of promotional material and information

Requirements

- Provide to YCC, and maintain, a current standard level, or higher, first aid and CPR certification

-Provide YCC with an up to date, as of the employment start date, resume and completed YCC application/employee information form

-Provide YCC with a Vulnerable Sector check document from a Canadian police agency
