Job Description

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Property Accountant to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $40.00 to $55.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain the books for assigned properties and support daily accounting operations.
• Prepare journal entries for expenses and accruals while ensuring accurate financial coding.
• Review aging reports and expense ledgers to identify issues and ensure data accuracy.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly financial packages.
• Assist with CAM reconciliations, annual budgets, forecasts, and other reporting requirements.

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in daily interactions.
• Apply analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills to resolve accounting issues.
• Work independently while meeting deadlines and managing multiple responsibilities.
• Utilize accounting applications such as Yardi or MRI to support property level reporting.
• Interpret lease language accurately and support accounting processes and internal controls.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, with retail real estate experience preferred.
• Use financial spreadsheet software effectively, including advanced Excel functions.
• Understand GAAP and relevant FASB pronouncements related to real estate accounting.
• Support compliance with joint venture requirements and assist with accounts payable activities.
