Job Description

Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan are currently seeking an Information Technology Business Analyst to provide business application support across the Asia Pacific region with a focus on financial systems and operations.

Based in our Tokyo office this is an in-house regional role that will work across both business and IT to deliver process improvement solutions support end-to-end project implementation and ensure a stable environment.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide first-level support of global and local business applications across the Asia Pacific region

  • Act as a finance/accounting subject matter expert; liaise with stakeholders to identify business financial and operational needs; conduct in-depth analysis of business requirements; deliver solutions that help streamline processes and operations and support business growth opportunities

  • Translate business requirements and user needs into functional specifications; collaborate with developers to ensure requirements are incorporated into system design

  • Develop functional documentation training materials and conduct end-user training

  • Support all stages of project implementation testing setup upgrades rollout user training and post-launch support Participate in or lead local and global projects

Candidate Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Degree holder of Business Finance Information Technology or relevant discipline

  • At least 3 years or more experience in business analysis and IT and supporting financial systems in a complex enterprise environment

Preferred:

  • A qualified accountant with membership of a recognized professional accounting body

  • Sound knowledge of financial processes

  • Applicants with experience in financial operations and a demonstrated interest and aptitude in business systems will be considered

  • Experience with SAP (FI/CO) is preferable

  • Experience in the Entertainment / Motion Pictures industry would be a definite advantage

Knowledge / Skills Required:

  • Knowledge or experience in communicating and working with multicultural team

  • Self-motivated and independent in providing analysis of business problems and improvements and determine appropriate applications of technology to be used

  • Demonstrate strong analytical problem solving and communication skills

  • Excellent command of written and spoken Japanese

  • Skilled in written and spoken business English

  • Ability to express thoughts clearly and logically.

  • Flexibility and ability to work across several technologies a fast learner with an inquisitive mind

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision seek help when necessary and think outside the box

  • Proactive enthusiastic and enjoys interacting with people

  • Exhibits a strong customer-service mindset with a readiness to assist users in resolving support issues

  • Knowledge of AI fundamentals for the workplace

Please note that this role is based in order to enable us to meet statutory and regulatory obligations of the Japan immigration system you must have the appropriate immigration permission needed to work and reside in Japan for the duration of the employment.
