The Role
*Native level of Japanese is required*
You will play a vital role in supporting the stability of society and the peace of mind of individuals through IT infrastructure operations in the life insurance and financial sectors. You will be involved in socially impactful work such as modernizing the IT foundation of Japanese enterprises (mainframe modernization), monitoring servers, networks, and storage, handling incidents, performing regular maintenance, and leading team management and improvement initiatives.

As the Group Leader overseeing both the SE and Operations teams, you will manage members from multiple vendors (approx. 20 people, including both Japanese and global team members).

Specific tasks include:
Maintenance and management of clients’ mainframe IT infrastructure
Incident response and recovery leadership
Task and assignment management for team members
Skill development and OJT for team members
Proposing transformation initiatives leveraging Kyndryl’s strengths, aligned with clients’ IT strategies
Primarily remote work is possible
On-site attendance only for client meetings or implementation work (up to once every two weeks)
Office attendance: Roppongi office (0–3 times/week, flexible)

#4: Contribute to Mainframe Modernization
Utilize specialized technologies such as z/OS and Db2 to support the renewal of Japanese IT infrastructure. You’ll also gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies like Kyndryl Bridge integration and automation using Ansible.

There are lots of opportunities to gain certification and qualifications on the job, and you’ll continuously grow as a Cloud Hyperscaler. Many of our Infrastructure Specialists are on a path toward becoming either an Architect or Distinguished Engineer, and there are opportunities at every skill level to grow in either of these directions.

Who You Are
■ Required (MUST)
Native level of Japanese
Minimum 5 years of foundational experience in mainframe operations, including z/OS
Project management experience (leading teams of around 10 members for approximately 5 years)
Strong communication skills
■ Preferred (WANT)
Knowledge of DB2, CICS, and hardware components (CPU, Disk, VTS)
Work experience at a system integrator (SIer)
English proficiency (comfortable working in English-speaking environments)
