Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with Child Development Institute, to recruit the Associate Director, Clinical Operations. This leadership role ensures that Clinical Managers and their teams are equipped to provide high-quality, evidence-informed, trauma-informed, and client-centered care in alignment with CDI’s clinical policies and standards.

Reporting to the Director, Clinical Services, The Associate Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily management and strategic implementation of clinical programs to ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality clinical services. This role involves establishing processes and procedures (SOPs), optimizing workflows and identifying areas of efficiency within the Clinical Services department. The Associate Director of Clinical Operations will manage and report on various projects and initiatives within the Clinical Services team. The Associate Director will work collaboratively with the Director Clinical Services, Associate Director Clinical Supervision and the greater clinical services team and staff. They will participate in the People Manager Team, Clinical Managers Group, and Collaborative Leadership Table, to manage operational issues and contribute to the strategic vision and direction of the agency. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone that is already making small or large changes within their current system to make large impacts clinically, operationally, organizationally and municipally.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations

  • Manage and maintain clinical data systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Lead strategic and operational decision-making in clinical operations
  • Manage budget, expenses and assigned financial resources for Clinical Services
  • Execute program development planning, accreditation and continuous quality improvement
  • Develop and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines
  • Monitor volume of service delivery (caseloads, KPIs) to identify areas of efficiency
  • Organize clinical staff scheduling and coverage required for service delivery

Project Management

  • Manage the planning/implementation of Clinical Service projects and initiatives
  • Lead ad-hoc initiatives for CDI (ie. IDEA)
  • Lead the improvement of processes and procedures
  • Lead change management activities to support new processes, tools and programs

People & Stakeholder Management

  • Co-lead recruitment, hiring, training and onboarding of clinical service staff with HR
  • Mentor and coach clinical staff throughout their career at CDI
  • Establish professional development plans for clinical service staff
  • Provide performance management to clinical service staff (goal setting, evaluation, feedback, development opportunities)
  • Serve on internal and external committees to form partnerships
  • Assist with achieving funding through proposals and partnerships

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in a related field (Public Health, Health Administration, Health Policy, Non-Profit Management)
  • Credentials in Lean Six Sigma, Process Management or Change Management is a value-add
  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role within a clinical setting.
  • Experience in CYMH sector and/or Clinical Service setting.
  • Understanding of PHIPA (privacy/ethical standards)
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Tools

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Technical Skills

  • Clinical Operations: apply best practices of operational models and project management methodologies to a clinical setting (ex. Lean Six Sigma, PMP).
  • Clinical Documentation: ensure accurate, compliant, and confidential record-keeping.
  • Data Analysis: use data to monitor outcomes and inform decision-making. Identify ways to improve data collection, quality and accuracy.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: utilize Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and communication.
  • Budgeting: manage the financial resources assigned to Clinical Service teams.

Functional Skills

  • Workflow Management: support the documentation of SOPs/workflows across clinical services and processes.
  • Quality Improvement: monitor caseloads and volume of services to maintain quality.
  • Project Management: plan, coordinate, and execute clinical projects and initiatives.
  • Program Development & Implementation: contribute to the design and rollout of clinical programs, new processes and new technologies.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: align clinical operations with organizational goals.
  • Change Management & Innovation: lead clinical teams through change and foster continuous improvement.
  • Training & Development: design/ deliver effective training programs for clinical staff.
  • People Management: coach and mentor clinical staff throughout their career journeys.
