Akelius is seeking a dynamic and detail oriented Architectural Intern to join the construction team for a six month contract. 

The Architectural Intern will coordinate and collaborate with the Design and Construction teams to design and document residential unit upgrades and common area improvements. 

The successful candidate will exhibit strong design and technical expertise, excellent time management skills and have the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment. 

 

• assist in product research for design team standards and project-specific requirements
• assist in developing and managing design standard documents
• support the design and construction document drawing sets for permit and tender

• coordinate and execute with local jurisdictions to facilitate the issuances and closures of building permits
• assist in reviewing submittals and other tasks during contract administration as required
• conduct site visits as needed to investigate unforeseen issues and review quality of construction and code compliance

• assist in creation of marketing materials
• ensure the most updated as-builts are maintained
• other duties as assigned

who you are

• current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Architecture or a related field
• familiarity with building codes and basic construction principles
• proficient with AutoDesk, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suites, SketchUp, or similar applications

• excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
• prior exposure in residential design and experience is a plus
• ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
